International Lusitano Horse Festival, June 28-30, 2024
Organized by the Portuguese Lusitano Breeders Association (APSL) the Lusitano Festival is the most prestigious event of the year where purebred Lusitano horses from the country's most successful breeders are presented and shown in various disciplines.
It takes place in Cascais in a beautiful setting next to the ocean, about 25-30 minutes from Lisbon airport and 40 minutes from Alcainça.
Enhance your stay with us by joining for the evening equestrian show, or the working equitation speed test where you'll witness the finest Lusitano horses in action. Celebrate their beauty, athleticism, and rich heritage alongside us at this prestigious event!
Preliminary Program for guests at Escola de Equitação de Alcainça
We are organizing transfers to the showground on both Saturday night and/or Sunday morning.
Please note that these transfer services come with a fee of 110 EUR per person and day.

Regular riding program at Escola de Equitação de Alcainça with 1 or 2 lessons
After the afternoon lesson, we organize a transfer to Cascais where you can spend some time exploring the picturesque town by the sea and enjoy dinner (not included).
21.00 h - Equestrian Show @ Night*
The show takes place outdoors, please bring warm cloths
After the show, returning to Alcainça

Breakfast at Escola de Equitação de Alcainça and transfer to Cascais.
10.30 h - International Working Equitation National Championship qualifier, speed test
12.00 h - Saddle presentation, 4, 5+ year old mares
12.45 h - Saddle presentation, 4, 5+ year old stallions
